Dr Michael Kan, BDS (Otago), FRACDS (Sydney)

For over 20 years, Dr Kan has practiced and perfected the art of cosmetic, reconstructive and restorative dentistry. With Michael’s gentle and approachable personality, he quickly puts you at each in the dental chair.

Graduating from Otago University’s School of Dentistry, Dr Kan achieved the top placement in his pre-clinical dentistry class. Michael then went on to complete his fellowship at the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in Sydney, with an interest in Cosmetic and Reconstructive Dentistry .

Dr Kan has completed all levels at the Institute of Cosmetic Dentistry where he graduated with the highest mark in his class. Michael is also a member of the New Zealand Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the New Zealand Dental Association and is Fellow Member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.

Dr Kan has a well regarded reputation for quality and expertise in the dentistry feild and is recognised by his peers around the country, consulting for a number of dental practices.

Dr Clarence Tam, HBSc, DDS (Canada)

In 2008, Auckland Dental Care (part of the Cosmetic Dental Group)  was proud to welcome Dr Clarence Tam to our growing team

Dr. Tam is a talented individual who joined Auckland Dental Care after practicing Toronto, Canada.  Dr Tam has become an important part of our cosmetic and restorative team over the last two years, with particular expertise in esthetic restorations using both porcelains and composites.

Dr Tam’s expertise also extends to teeth whitening and colour, where was selected by TV3’s What’s Really In Our Food as the cosmetic dental expert on  their dental episode that focused on tooth staining and prevention.  Outside the Auckland Dental Care practise, Dr Tam is an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, NZ Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, NZ Dental Association and Canadian Dental Association.

Educated in Canada, Dr. Tam became the top-ranked graduate at the University of Western Ontario, completing a competitive oral surgery externship at Harvard University under Dr. Leonard Kaban at the Massachusetts General Hospital.  After graduation, Dr Tam was accepted into a renowned General Practice Residency in Paediatric Dentistry at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.

From a bedside manner that is relaxed yet professional, Dr Tam will guide you through the most complex of dental procedures with an unparelleled attention to detail.  Dr Tam is a regular contributor to the New Zealand Dental Association News as well as local media publications.  Dr Tam’s other responsibilities is being a reviewer of new dental materials for several multinational dental supply companies.

Soraya Sabetian Kan, BHSc, RN

Soraya Sabetian Kan, Managing Director of Cosmetic Dental in Auckland

As Managing Director of Auckland Dental Care, Soraya Kan oversees the daily management of the dental practice, including all policies and procedures that keep the clinic running smoothly

Soraya’s experience includes working as a registered nurse and registered anaesthetic technician at Auckland Hospital, a role which has given her highly valuable skills that are quite useful within the dental industry.

One of Auckland Dental Care’s top priorities is to remain at the cutting edge of dental techniques and technology. Soraya regularly schedules education seminars, conferences and courses for both herself and each member of the Auckland Dental Care team.

Soraya also takes an active role in the monthly Auckland Practice Manager’s Club which is proudly sponsored by the Henry Schein Shalfoon dental practice.

Nicole Carseldine

Nicole joined the team at Auckland Dental Care in 2007 after several years experience working as a medical receptionist.

Auckland Dental Care sought out Nicole for her ever-positive and enthusiastic personality, not to mention her extensive background within the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries. Nicole has gained a vast catalog of knowledge of dental products and procedures in her time with Auckland Dental Care.  Nicole has also recently graduated from the New Zealand Dental Association with a certificate in Dental Assistance. Nicole is also a regular attendee at industry training, seminars and conferences to upgrade her education in the latest products and customer care standards.

With a strong work ethic and focus on delivering a quality standard of professional service, Nicole ensures that you receive 100% attention at all times.
